Florals
have been a big trend this year, both in usual Spring/Summer quarters
as well as darker versions into fall/winter. But you’ve never seen
flowers like this!
Lady O Shoes recently released
its debut shoe collection, created and designed by 16-year shoe
industry veteran, Lesley Zheng. Lady O’s collection is a fun twist on
the traditional spring florals however. Lady O Shoes are actually made
with real flowers. Lady O shoes contain a patent-pending design using
pressed flowers picked at their peak and infused in vinyl.
After
years of overseeing manufacturing for brands such as Stuart Weitzman,
Nine West, Sketchers, and Michael Kors, Zheng decided to try her hand at
designing her own collection. Zheng had seen decades of floral fabrics
and artificial flowers used in shoe designs but she wanted to make
something different.
“How can we have something original and authentic that preserves the beauty of nature?”
So
after years of experimentation, Zheng has created a signature technique
for Lady O Shoes to incorporate real pressed flowers into each of the
eight shoe styles for her debut.
“When customers buy our shoes,
they’re able to take advantage of pre-selected pressed flower
combinations and own a piece of nature that lasts beyond spring and
summer,” says Zheng. “Monochromatic shoes are rampant in our modern age,
but shoppers are drawn to the color and comfort qualities contained
within our patent pending shoe process.”
The patent pending
process begins when the pressed flowers are incorporated into the upper
of the shoe using a non-woven fabric backing, the clearest and thinnest
vinyl, and soft Italian kidskin for lining. Many hours are spent on
arranging flowers meticulously for each pair of shoes.
Created by
human hands, these artisan-created shoes are made with methods that date
back to the Victorian era. Each Lady O shoe is made for comfort using
NASA technology’s Poron memory foam. Each shoe also contains a winged
arch, genuine leather sole and soft Italian kidskin sock, lining, heel
and platform cover.
So instead of asking him for those dozen long stemmed roses, why not ask him for a bouquet by Lady O?
